The Interfacial Phenomena Group (GRIFIT) of the Chemical Engineering Program at COPPE is an interdisciplinary group that aims at studying the phenomena present in different interfaces, using a transdisciplinary approach that seeks to establish a single language in the recognition and analysis of phenomena present in gas-solid, liquid-solid, liquid-liquid and solid-solid interfaces.
We register our competence in the performance of theoretical and experimental studies in different interfacial phenomena present in adsorption processes in inorganic, organic and biological systems, in photocatalytic processes and in the study of different colloidal systems. It is also important to register our particular collaboration with the areas of Catalysis (NUCAT), Membrane Separation Processes (PAM), Thermodynamics and Bioprocesses (LaBio).
