The Laboratory of Membrane Separation Processes (PAM) started its activities in 1968, researching the separation of hydrocarbons, being the first laboratory with experimental activities at PEQ and COPPE. Through several research projects linked to or hired by companies, it was possible to consolidate the laboratory infrastructure that enables PAM to work in modern processes which involve membrane technology. The cooperation with national and international research groups has been constant and broadens the study of the applications of processes with membranes (Food, Petrochemical and Pharmaceutical Industries; Environment and Effluents).
